However, the price action is now running into the first line of resistance around 8800. The NIFTY is also sitting about 2% off major resistance from the prior swing high and monthly downtrend line on the chart below. A break of the 10-day MA on a daily chart, followed by further downside would be the first signal that the current rally is losing momentum. Stock Commentary Because our report is on a weekly basis, we believe the best way to help the short to intermediate-term swing trader is by focusing on strong charts patterns and discussing multiple low-risk buy points rather than just listing an exact buy point for one specific scenario. Stocks that appear in the watchlist at the top of this report are a few of the setups we are monitoring during the week for a buy entry. Experienced traders should put their own touch on selecting buy points, while those that are new to trading may want to wait for our trigger points/zones to hit. Just remember, these prices are based on chart patterns through last Friday. New information arrives every day Monday through Friday and you must be willing to go with the flow. Learn to think for yourself rather than following a report's every move! This week's charts As the NIFTY becomes more extended in the short-term, the harder it is to find quality buy setups, as most stocks should have moved out with the market. The few setups that remain may still be able to produce a decent 10-15% move or more, but one should not be loading up on new long positions at this time. In last week's report, we discussed a possible breakout entry in HINDCOPPER above 71. The price action failed to breakout but is trading near the 20-day EMA, which is a decent spot to enter partial size with the idea of adding the rest of the position above the range high. A protective stop can be placed below the rising 50-day MA, on a closing basis. CAMLINFINE has been in base mode since last October, breaking the downtrend line and setting a higher low in January. The price is now consolidating in a tight range at the 20-day EMA, with the 50-day MA just below as additional support. Note that the 50 and 200-day MAs are trending in the right direction (higher). A move above last Friday's high on volume is the buy entry with a stop below the rising 50-day MA on a closing basis. Note the bullish volume spikes in the base on rallies, followed by lighter volume pullbacks, which is a bullish sign. Volume should expand as a stock moves higher and contract as it consolidates (generally speaking). The 20-day EMA is our line in the sand for determining whether or not a stock is in short-term rally mode. After a base breakout, then as long as the rally holds the 20-day EMA, it should be in good shape. A break of the 20-day EMA would increase the odds of more downside, or at the very least produce several weeks of sideways action. Swing traders should use a combination of selling into strength and a break of the 20-day EMA as a guide for selling stocks that are extended from a buy point. BGENERGY is a good example of a stock that has recently broken out from a valid basing pattern that is now pulling back into support of the rising 20-day EMA. The 20-day EMA must hold up here, or the stock could pull back into the 50-day MA over the next few weeks. Those who understand this can take advantage of the do or die situation by entering BGRENERGY with a tight stop below the recent swing low around 128. Either the 20-day EMA holds, or the setup is no longer valid. Please be sure to develop some sort of risk profile before trading stocks. For example, decide what you are willing to lose as a percent of account value in every trade. If you are new to trading, then keep risk small until there is a strong comfort level. For new traders, we recommend risking no more than 1/3 of 1% of account value per trade. Experienced traders can risk 1% of account value per trade. Trades should not be sized where three losses in a row will result in a 10% drop in account value.
